With a risk of winds and hail we are going to delay the start time of the FFA Awards Banquet this evening. We will start at 7:00 PM in the auditorium. Hopefully this will allow safe travel for everyone.

Congratulations to Cael Johnson on his senior signing to the University of Nebraska–Lincoln! Cael plans to pursue a future in the healthcare field and is exploring which major best fits his goals. During his time at Pawnee City, Cael has been involved in football, basketball, speech, one-act and many other activities. He will also be earning his CNA certification this year! We are proud of you, Cael! Best of luck at UNL!

Congratulations to Shayla Puhalla and Cael Johnson for being selected to the Omaha World-Herald All-Academic Team! This honor recognizes outstanding high school seniors for their impressive GPA, ACT scores, and extracurricular achievements. We are proud of you both!

Congratulations to Ms. Allison Glathar, our April Staff Member of the Month! Ms. Allison received the most nominations from her peers for being reliable, always willing to help, and consistently going above and beyond for students and staff. Her positive attitude, energy, and smile make a difference every day, and it’s clear how much she enjoys working with kids! Thank you, Ms. Allison, for all you do—we are lucky to have you! Congratulations to Justin Baehr, Aiden Tozer, Dylan Layne, and Kailey Hartman for being selected to attend Boys State and Girls State this summer! These leadership programs give high school juniors the opportunity to learn about citizenship and government by creating and running a mock state government, holding elections, and debating legislation. We are proud of you for representing our school and taking on this incredible opportunity!

Congratulations to senior Quinn Friendly on his senior signing to SCC Milford! Quinn will be joining the Electrical Program and has also taken advantage of dual credit opportunities and will graduate high school with an SCC Welding Certificate. Quinn was recently awarded the Walter Scott Jr. Career Pathway Scholarship at SCC! Such an incredible accomplishment! We are so proud of you, Quinn!

Happy Administrative Professionals Day to Mrs. Stef Rauner, Mrs. Terra Blecha, Mrs. Abbi Gyhra, Mrs. April Johnson, and Ms. Jane Osborne! These amazing ladies keep everything running smoothly at our school each and every day. They answer all the questions, help with everything and are always wonderful people to bounce ideas off of. SCC dual credit Intro to Psychology students took a field trip on Friday to the Glore Psychiatric Museum in St. Joseph, Missouri! The museum offered a fascinating timeline of mental health treatment throughout history and gave students a unique look at how approaches have evolved over the years. Definitely an interesting and eye opening experience!

Last week, Kailey Hartman attended the Attorney General’s Youth Conference. At this conference, she heard from Attorney General Mike Hilgers, Governor Jim Pillen, Nebraska Supreme Court Justice Derek Vaughn, and Senator Carolyn Bosn. Students also engaged with bureau chiefs of several different bureaus in the Nebraska Attorney General's Office and members of the Solicitor General team. Attendees gathered in the Warner Legislative Chamber to participate in a mock bill debate and spent the day discussing topics related to government, law, and consumer protection. We are proud of you Kailey! Thanks for representing PC so well!

JH Track and Field will be heading to Palmyra for the MUDECAS meet. It will start at 8:30 with the field events.

Congrats to Madelyn Osborne on her senior signing with SCC Lincoln! She’ll be entering the Health Sciences program before transitioning into the Physical Therapy Assistant program. While still in high school, she’s also working toward her CNA certification which is an incredible accomplishment. Madelyn has been involved in a variety of activities, including volleyball and basketball, and we’re so proud of all she’s achieved. Good luck!!

We would like to thank Sycamore Springs for an amazing day! The Pawnee City middle school students were able to spend the day fishing, skating, hiking, sand volleyball, basketball, Pickleball/tennis courts, putt-putt golf, wagon rides, a playground, and petting zoo! The Grimm family made this day so much fun for all! We appreciate their hospitality and we will definitely visit again!
