Pawnee City Public Schools

Pawnee City Play Production had a successful and busy weekend at two amazingly run meets filled with talented competition. On Friday, the team enjoyed the beautiful weather and facilities at Peru State College, and on Saturday, they traveled the other direction for an enjoyable day at Fairbury.

Both days saw a Runner-Up finish for our play. Other awards were Best ensemble at Peru, Runner-up in Tech/Crew at Fairbury, and a Best Performer award for Tyler Tegtmeier at Fairbury.

Outstanding acting awards this weekend went to: Tyler Tegtmeier, Cael Johnson, Luke Hunzeker, Larkyn Vlcek, Abby Dietrich, Haylee Plager, Kailey Hartman, Layla Featherkile, Dylan Lane, Justin Baehr, Gauge Schultz, Emalyse Gottula, Ashlyn Puhala, Bella Seitz, and Emily Koster.

Juggling appointments, homework, opening day of rifle season, and more—they work together to get the job done. We couldn’t be prouder of the good behavior and positive attitudes of our team.

They have two performances this week: Wednesday at Nebraska City Lourdes at 9:45 am and Saturday at our own festival at PC at 9:00. Admission is $5. Come and see an amazing story!

Kindergarten artists explored non-conventional painting materials. Their paintings will be used to create winter landscapes.

The Kindness Crew is at again! Brightening our halls with handwritten notes and spreading positivity one message at a time! Their small acts make a big difference! Wishing everyone a wonderful, kindness-filled weekend!

Road trip to UNK! Our Pawnee City students did an amazing job today exploring the University of Nebraska-Kearney! They toured campus, checked out dorms and learned all about the exciting new programs UNK has to offer. Did you know UNK is one of only two schools in Nebraska with its own glass-blowing studio?

The Pawnee City Choir did a great job at the Pioneer Conference Vocal Clinic yesterday. The choir performed 5 songs with students from other conference schools and one individual song as a school. Many thanks to Sterling for hosting!

Justin Baehr took part of his afternoon and visited the Pawnee Republican! Justin is interested in a career in photojournalism and he had the chance to meet with Ron and learn from his experience. He even got to check out the old darkroom that was once used to develop photos! We're proud of Justin for taking the initiative to learn from professionals in his own community!

The Pawnee City One-Act team had a great first meet on Saturday at the York invite. They placed second in their division and third in tech/set up. Tyler Tegtmeier was named a best performer and Cael Johnson a best supporting performer. Additional acting awards went to Tyler, Cael, Layla Featherkile, Larkyn Vlcek, Luke Hunzeker, Abby Dietrich, Haylee Plager, Kailey Hartman, gauge Schuetz, Dylan Lane, Justin Baehr, Shayla Puhala, Adelyn Sisco, Emalyse Gottula, Ashlyn Puhala, Bella Seitz, Emily Koster, and Isabell Long. The team travels next to Peru on Friday and Fairbury on Saturday. Make plans to catch a show this season!

These junior high students had a full day of rehearsal and a stellar performance at the Crete Junior High Choral Clinic. Job well done! 🎶

Our freshmen had the opportunity to visit the University of Nebraska–Lincoln today. Students observed a class in session, toured dorms, rec center and experienced campus dining — an exciting look at potential postsecondary paths!
