On April 22, 2026, Pawnee City’s fifth-grade class takes a field trip to the Schramm Aquarium near Louisville, NE. The fifth-grade class partnered with the Nebraska Game and Parks for the Trout in the Classroom Program.
According to fifth-grade teacher Hadley Sejkora, “The class began raising their rainbow trout eggs in early January, which eventually hatched, and they have been taking care of them ever since.”
The class released their trout in the spring-fed stream at Schramm Aquarium. On the trip, they also explored the aquarium and spent the rest of their time fishing, dip-netting for macroinvertebrates, and enjoying a nature walk.
