On March 19, the Pawnee City middle schoolers travel to HTRS for contest to perform in the band and choir. When Mrs. Dieckgrafe was asked about their day, she responded, “I think the choir's performance of Murasme was very nice.” She said her favorite song of the day was called Seize the Day. In the future, she would like to arrange more practice time for the small groups and solos.
Mrs. Veleba mentioned that the band played very well. When commenting on what song she thought went the best, she said, “Their second, Extreme, went the best it had all semester, but their first song was actually my favorite.” She also mentions how in the Spring Concert there will be two songs from the contest, as well as three more they are playing with other groups. She says, “The beginning band will join junior high for Dragon Slayer and Big Rock Candy Mountain, and junior high will join the high school for Episode for Band.
Abigail Wempe was asked about her favorite song was, and she responded, “My favorite song that I performed was Amazing Grace (in a duet).” She also says that in the future she plans to work on her harmonizing.
The 5-12 bands and 6-12 choirs next performance will be on Monday, April 27 at Pawnee City's amphitheater in VanHorne Park at 6:00.
