Gyhra Ag

For our yearbook class, I had the opportunity to interview Jeff Gyhra about his business, Gyhra Ag. Gyhra Ag has been in business since 2017. I asked Jeff when he decided to start his own business. He stated, "After college, I worked for a few years and noticed there were very limited options for spraying in the area. I saw an opportunity to provide a service that local farmers could benefit from, which is what led me to start my own business."

Additionally, regarding what Gyhra Ag consists of, he stated that Gyhra Ag provides custom spraying and fertilizer application services. The goal is to help farmers protect their crops and improve growth by applying chemicals and fertilizers to their fields using specialized equipment.

When asked about the big challenges that are faced while running Gyhra Ag, he replied, "Weather dependency is probably the biggest challenge. Wind restrictions, rain delays, wet fields, and short application windows can make scheduling difficult. During planting and post-emergence seasons, many customers need service at the same time. Equipment costs and maintenance, customer expectations, and safety risks are also important challenges in running the business."

If you’ve ever seen someone wearing a Gyhra Ag shirt, Jeff is the one who creates them. "I usually start with a vision or idea and try to explain or describe it to my wife, Lindsey. She then went on to turn that vision into different designs and products. After that, we work together to tweak and refine it until we have the final design."

Where does Jeff see Gyhra Ag in the future? "I see Gyhra Ag continuing to grow and serve more farmers in the area while maintaining quality service and strong relationships with customers."

Thank you, Jeff, for letting me interview you!
