On February 13 and 14, the Indian wrestlers travel to Shelby-Rising City to compete in the D-3 Districts, aiming to qualify for State. At Districts, you have to place in the top four in your weight class to make it to State. State is held in Omaha at the CHI Health Center and runs from February 20 to 22.
Two of the three Indian wrestlers who competed at Districts qualified for CHI: junior Dylan Layne and sophomore Gauge Schuetz (the first ever for the Pawnee City Indians). Dylan went 3-1 and placed third; Gauge went 2-2 and placed fourth; Joel Strehle went 0-2 and placed out of the top four.
There's going to be a send-off in the gym at 9:00 on Thursday morning. Community members, families, and students are all invited.
