On Wednesday, February 4, the junior high girls’ team plays HTRS at home. The A team won 21-16. The leading scorers were Aubrey Sisco with 10, followed by Riley Strehle with four, Sophia Sunneberg with three, and finally Amelia Strathman and Emma Turnbull each with two.
The B team also won 8-3. The leading scorers were Riley Strehle with four, followed by Sophia Sunneberg and Vanessa Gottula, each with two.
When asked if there was anything that stuck out during the game, Coach Jacobs was concerned that some things didn’t happen in the game that the girls practiced. “I thought our shooting was off from the beginning, but we scored enough to get the win.”
When asked how she did as an individual and as a team from her perspective, Amelia Strathman stated, “I believe I did well overall, scored some points, and played well defensively and offensively. As a team, we have definitely improved; we were way more competitive than we had been overall. It was a great game we played.”
Their next game will be at the Falls City Sacred Heart Invitational on February 14.
