HS Basketball Game

Pawnee City varsity girls play Falls City at home on January 29. This night was also Parent Night and Senior Night, with special recognition of the seniors on the team: Abby Dietrich and Madelyn Osborne.

The girls won with a score of 42-30. Our lead scorer was Adelyn Sisco with 10 points; followed by Kinsley Benson and Emalyse Gottula, each with 8 points; Madelyn Osborne with 4 points; and Ericca Gyhra, Haylee Plager, and Ainsley with 2 points each.

Adelyn had eight rebounds and one steal; Kinsley had four rebounds, three assists, and five steals; Emalyse had five rebounds and two assists; Madelyn had three rebounds, one assist, and two steals; Ericca had three assists and one steal; Haylee had six rebounds and one assist; and Ainsley had one rebound and one steal.

When asked about what he thought about the game, Coach Timothy Kluck stated, “I thought we played well and adapted well during the game to the changes we needed to make. We're still playing way too slow defensively, and we tend to get really lazy at times.”

The girls will play again on Friday, February 6, in the Pioneer Conference Tournament. They will face Sterling in Sterling at 6 p.m. Good luck!
