On January 17, the Pawnee City wrestling team travels to Cross County for a wrestling tournament. Dylan Layne got second in varsity at the 285 weight class. Luke Hunzeker went 0-5. Gauge Schuetz got second place in the 215 weight class. Joel Strehle got second in the JV division.
When asked about the tournament and what he could’ve done better, Gauge Schuetz replied, “I could’ve done better getting more escapes and reversals.” These moves help the wrestler get away and get back in a better position. Everyone wishes they had performed better, but they are proud of how the team did.
The wrestling team will travel to Adams to wrestle at the Freeman Invite on January 30.
