On Sunday, December 15, students from Pawnee City's middle school and high school perform on the annual Vespers Concert. The afternoon began with an outgoing performance by the high school band, followed by the middle school band. Between the bands and the choirs, the junior high students who are not in band played a few songs on the ukuleles.
The concert concluded with performances from the choirs, representing both the high school and middle school, which introduced the music they had been working on throughout the semester. The concert closed with the combined 6-12 choir members presenting the Elf Theme Song. The audience was then treated to cookies and punch after the program.
The 6-12 and choir members are now preparing for contests this spring and their next concert, the Spring Concert at VanHorne Park on Thursday, April 30, at 6:00 PM.
