On Tuesday, December 16, the varsity boys play against Lourdes Central Catholic at home. The Indians won with a score of 49-41. The leading scorers were Jordan Wernimont with 17, followed by Atreyu Kling with 12, then Payton Rose with eight, Tyler Tegtmeier with seven, Brayden Frakes with three, and finally Colin Fender with two.
When asked how the team's effort was from start to finish, Coach Sejkora stated, "I thought our decision-making was the best it has been all season. I thought our effort rebounding was great for the most part, except for a few possessions. They went on a run late in the second quarter, and I thought our attitude and effort dipped out of frustration. We talked about that at half-time, and I was really proud of how the boys responded in the second half. I thought their attitude and effort were great the entire second half."
When asked how he thought he did as an individual and as a team, Payton Rose commented, "As an individual, I played good defense, tried to stay locked, and hit some big shots. As a team, we did really well at keeping our composure. When the game started getting close, we did really well rebounding. That's all we could ask for, getting the win."
Their next game will be against the Sterlings Jets at home on Tuesday, December 30.
