On December 2, Pawnee City guidance counselor, Mrs. Lisa Blecha, took the 2025-26 junior class to Beatrice for a Pathways to Success event. The juniors were required to create a poster board stating their goals/plans for the future and present it to the judges in a Shark Tank-style format. At this event, judges examined each poster board and provided feedback based on the quality as well as ideas on the posters, and if they were ready for real-life applications.
To gather more information, students were asked about their experience. Ericca Gyhra commented on the project, “Mrs. Lisa Blecha graded us based on the clothes we wore, the appearance of our board, and how we interacted with judges.”
Judges who attended were Laura Maurstad, Karisa Malchow, Doug Malchow, Erin Hamilton, Tony Hoffman, Caleb Wood, Cassie Schaardt, Nich Herrington, Randy Gottula, Mark Brohman, Bob Hallstrom, Chelsey Karlin, Donna Arena, Teri Wilcox, Joe Blackburn, Cindy Myers, and Amy Southwick.
What a great opportunity this was for our students to be able to meet people and learn how to "market" themselves! Thank you, judges, for your participation, and THANKS to Mrs. Blecha for creating this experience.
