Pawnee City hosts the District One-Act competition on December 3. Eight schools participated: Weeping Water, Diller-Odell, Parkview Christian, Deshler, Meridian, Lawrence-Nelson, Mead, and Pawnee City. The One-Act team has been working hard throughout the year by waking up early and staying late. Due to their hard work, they were able to win the District Championship and advance to State this week!

Mrs. Bloss mentioned that the judges had a few specific critiques, but it was the smallest critique they had ever encountered. This demonstrates the team's progress and the meticulous attention to detail they have invested in this show. One of the things she liked best about the play was how well the cast connected emotionally to their characters. She also notes how they are keeping things fresh by adjusting both small and big moments, even this close to the end of the season.

When asked what Mrs. Bloss’s favorite part of the play was, she responded, “I'm not sure. The ending is obviously the most technical. I love both our soft scenes and our fast and funny ones. However, I also love to recognize their success when they nail a line or an emotional moment.” She explains how it is like watching a sports game when she gets excited or upset over the play.

Congratulations to the One-Act team for winning Districts! Their last performance will be at 10:45 in Norfolk on December 10. According to the NSAA website, awards will be live-streamed on News Channel Nebraska at 1:00.
