I had the opportunity to interview Dr. Kent Niss, as we focus on local businesses in Pawnee City. I was able to ask him about the history of the clinic and hospital, the services they provide, and also how many people are currently working there.
The hospital was built in 1951, and the clinic moved to its current location in 2000. Previously, the clinic was in the building that is now the pedal clinic. The Rural Health Clinic was established at that location in the 1950s; prior to that, the building was a Presbyterian Church.
The clinic offers a range of services, including outpatient care, hyperextension treatment, and treatment for various illnesses. The hospital services include the emergency room, in-hospital stay, medication infusion, physical therapy, and occupational therapy.
Additionally, the hospital employs approximately 70 people.
Thank you to Pawnee County Memorial Hospital and Rural Health Clinic, and specifically to Dr. Kent Niss, for taking the time to speak with me about the hospital and clinic.
