Union bank

In our journey to explore local businesses, I’ve come to appreciate Union Bank much more.

Thank you, Carly, for allowing me to interview you and learn so much about the business. Union Bank is a widely relied on bank. People trust them, and many have chosen them as their primary bank for good reason.

Union Bank is 108 years old, first established in 1917. The bank was actually called Farmers State Bank. It wasn't until 1935 that it was renamed to the Union Bank we all know and love. The Dunlap family bought it in 1954 and brought it to our lovely town in 1989. It was passed down to their daughter and is currently run by their grandson, Jason Muhlheisen.

When asked what services the bank offers, Carly responded, “We are a full-service bank.” They offer a wide variety of anything you could think of. Some of these services include checking/savings accounts, safe deposit boxes, investment services, trust accounts, loans, credit cards, and they help with home mortgages.

The company has over 1,000 employees, but four you might know locally. Each employee comes in before 8:00 to get their cash drawers ready, and they count and re-count money many times throughout the day, ensuring it’s safely accounted for. Activities differ day to day due to customer requests. The bank opens a convenient drive-through, meaning even when you're in a rush, they can absolutely cater to your needs and ensure your comfort.

If you want to work at Union Bank, there is no requirement of having a specific college degree; things you would need to work here, though, are people skills, problem-solving skills, and a close attention to detail.

Thank you again, Union Bank, for taking time from your busy schedule and letting us get to know more about you.
