On November 10, the Pawnee City High School choir attends the Pioneer Conference Vocal Clinic in Sterling. This event included all ten schools in the conference. The choir worked hard on their pieces by practicing all afternoon to give an outstanding performance. The clinician for the day was Rachel Kornfeld-Lambrecht.
The songs they sang were "Colors of Winter," "Thankfully," "Ad Astra," "We Sing, We Rise, We Soar," and "A Million Dreams." When asked what her favorite song was, Symanthea McDonald responded that her favorite song was "We Sing, We Rise, We Soar."
One of the things Symanthea learned was how to control her pitches so the sounds are not choppy. When asked what it was like singing with the other schools, she said, “It was challenging to sing with other schools because we all had different approaches to singing the songs, but it was also really enjoyable to meet new people who were in the same section as I was.”
The choir's next performance will be Vespers on December 14 at 3:00.
