On November 11, 2025, Pawnee City hosts the annual Veterans Day program. Students of all ages contributed to the program with a variety of songs. While the fourth and fifth graders were singing the song "Lady Liberty," they walked up and put a part of a picture on a backdrop so that by the end of the song, the Statue of Liberty was completely visible. After this, the flags were brought in, and Emily Koster sang the "Star-Spangled Banner."
Charlie Pierce, a former Sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps, spoke about some of his experiences. Ed Raper announced that Kohen Vetrovsky wrote for the Patriots Pen and won first place, while Isabella Seitz won the Voice of Democracy award.
When asked about the program, Laura Dieckgrafe stated that 20 veterans attended. At the end of the program, veterans and their families enjoyed a meal of chili and cinnamon rolls, prepared by the school's kitchen staff.
