The focus of this story is on our local grocery store, Pawnee City Thriftway. I was able to have an interview with the manager, Jeff Nider. The current owner of this business is Chad Winters, who has owned the business for ten years and counting. The past owners were the Niders, who owned the company since 1976.
The store currently has about eight employees working, and some of their jobs include restocking shelves and assisting with the register. The grocery store still hires any minors within the age groups of 16-18 years of age.
Thriftway offers a wide range of products, constantly introducing new ones. If you are wondering, yes, they take requests for new products. Thriftway has the second-largest warehouse in the country where they can obtain your product.
