Sheyenne Farwell is the new English-Language Arts Teacher for middle school and seniors taking college credit English. She teaches students the core foundation of English, such as how to write, form sentences, understand reading comprehension, and also understand writing comprehension. She has taught in various positions: she taught middle school English for six years and alternative education for eight years in Holton, KS. She was also the fifth-grade teacher for one year in Falls City.
Mrs. Farwell has three children: Kenadie, who is 21 years old, going to college at UNO for biology and then medical school; Kennedy, who is 19 years old, going to college in Olathe, KS, for criminal justice; and Kolbrin, who is 15 and a freshman at Pawnee City Public School. She and her husband, Nate, who works as a farmer, have been married for 13 years. Mrs. Farwell and her family have lived outside Dubois for 11 years on a farm. She wanted to teach at Pawnee City because she has been a part of the community for 17 years, and also to help strengthen the English Language Arts program.
When asked about her goals going into the year, she replied, “I would love to increase ELA standards, and I want to provide intervention and help students in need.”
When asked about her favorite part of being at Pawnee City School so far, she replied, “My favorite part of the year so far is how everyone is pulling together and how everyone has a sense of pride.”
