On May 2, the Pawnee City High School speech and One-Act teams host a donkey basketball fundraiser. Four teams participated: HealthFirst Pharmacy, Johnson Seed, PC Students, and PC Faculty. The Pharmacy took first place, and the PC students took second!

When Mrs. Pierce was asked if she made any points, she stated, “I did manage to score a basket; I had a cooperative donkey. My donkey would travel down the court well enough that I got several shots off.”  She continued, “I thought the faculty team played donkey basketball well.  It was also entertaining to watch the other games.”

When asked if they would play again, the faculty and students agreed that it was a lot of fun and would love to participate again, given the opportunity. Mr. Niss stated, “I would probably participate again, but as a coach!”

When Miss Coffey was asked if she got hurt, she said, “I did end up with some bruises, but it was worth the fun!” Mr. Niss added that he was sore but still enjoyed the event.

They also gave out some individual awards! Drew Menninga got MVP, Anthony Kling had the best shot, Tyler Johnson was the best fall, and Carla Strathman was the best rider!
