On April 25, the Pawnee City band and choir compete at District Music Contest in Tecumseh. The choir sang Wake, Awake and Ubi Caritas. All three judges gave them a superior rating. When Mrs. Dieckgrafe was asked about contest, she responded, “My favorite song from this performance was Ubi Caritas. It is Latin for '’where charity is." I thought the choir really improved on their dynamics and expression. I am proud of their performance and energy.”

The girls glee also performed at JCC. Not only did they receive a superior rating, they also earned the Honorable Mention - Outstanding Performing Group for their judge that day. Congrats!

On the instrumental side, Isaac and Bella Seitz played a trombone duet and received a superior rating. The band played America Forever March and Balkan Seven and got a superior. Justin Baehr commented on the performance, “My favorite song was Balkan Seven because of the fast pace and the overall sound of the song. I think I have improved on playing notes faster and playing higher notes. I think we did better at the District Music Contest than we have in a while.”
