On Tuesday, February 4, the eighth grade class goes on a college visit to the University of Nebraska in Omaha. They went on a tour of the campus, saw housing options, and were given a presentation about the school. When asked about the experience, many of the students said that they liked UNO.

Isabella Seitz said, “I LOVED the library. It was three stories, with tons of books and private study rooms.” She also commented on how she liked the Visual Arts Program.

Russel Weeks commented about how the buildings were modern and looked nice. Ainsley Rauner talked about how the cost of UNO is appealing. She said she can see herself going there in the future.

Kailyn Jensen mentioned how the basketball courts and pool caught her eye.  Tiffany Sampont said she likes the study availability options, and Brook Tozer said she felt very comfortable in the environment.

Eliana Jensen said, “What I liked about the college was the whole campus really. The housing and the different locations for eating.” She also said that the community and culture seemed fun and that UNO is on her list of potential colleges.

The students also had a few critiques about the college. Some didn’t like the food options, there isn’t an agriculture program at the college, and there are two campuses that are separated a mile apart.

Overall, the students like the college and many can see themselves going to UNO.
