On Wednesday, October 16, eighth graders travel to Alphia for a Careers Class field trip.  When asked about the event,  Lisa Blecha commented, “I think they liked seeing the connection with what is done at Alphia and information that they know from home. An example would be students would be able to see their animal food bag at home, and if they see a P, then they will know it came from Pawnee City.”

What did the students learn? Alphia produces 69 million pounds of food yearly. In the coming years, they expect to make 92 million pounds of food, and years after that 1.2 billion pounds. Pawnee City's local accounting department does all of Alphia’s accounting.

Is was a GREAT opportunity for our students to see how a local business works!
