JV Boys Basketball

The junior varsity boys basketball team plays at home against Lourdes Central Catholic on December 12. The boys played a good game, but lost with a score of 39-26. Philip Layne scored 14 points, followed by Tyler Tegtmeier with 6, Nicolas Melgar Staroverov with 5, and Kaminn Koester with 1 point.

When asked about the game, Coach Cory Horejs responded, “I think they need a little more practice in learning a new offense and defense. The boys are learning plays very quickly and we are starting to get our team healthy. I think the more they play together the better they will get as the season goes on.”

Coach Hadley Sejkora added, “I thought the JV team gave a great effort last night, but we would have liked to finish around the rim better moving forward as we missed too many easy looks.”

The junior varsity girls also played that night. The girls played a tough game but lost 21-11. Kinsley Benson scored 4 points, followed by Ericca Gyhra with 3, and Adelyn Sisco and Emalyse Gottula with 2 points each.

Good luck to the boys and girls as they play at Tri-County on December 21!
