On Friday, Nov. 3, the boys play Wilcox-Hildreth in Pawnee City for round two of the State Playoffs. Unfortunately, the Indians lost with a score of 33-14, ending with a winning season of 9-1.
When questioned about the things they did well against Wilcox-Hildreth, Coach Scott Brumbaugh responded, "We ran the ball well for the most part the other night. We outrushed our opponents for the game…. I thought our defense did a good job and kept us in the game until they got tired." When asked about some struggles they had, he replied, "We just weren't consistent on offense like we had been all year. We seemed to get penalties at poor times that got us off track and forced us to throw more than we wanted."
Jett Farwell led the team with 12 points and Anthony Kling with two. The team had 44 tackles: Anthony and Jett with 11, Atreyu Kling with 8, Justin Pierce with 6, Trey Marteney with 5, and Jessie McLaughlin with 3. Jett led the team with 233 yards, followed by Justin with 123, Anthony with 53, and Trey with 4.
Congratulations on a great season!
