Sioux County

On Friday, October 27, the Pawnee City football team battles Sioux County on our home field in the first round of playoffs. The Indians came out on top with a score of 55-22. When asked what improved from their last game, Coach Mason Amundson said, “I thought we tackled extremely well during the game.” 

As the boys prepared to play Wilcox-Hildreth, they focused on becoming more consistent throughout the whole game. Coach Scott Brumbaugh added, “Starting the game playing well is important. It helps build momentum that usually carries on into the rest of the game.”  

The boys had some impressive stats. Jett Farwell led the team with 36 points, followed by Anthony Kling with 16, Philip Layne with two, and Jesse McLaughlin with one. The team had a total of 52 tackles. Leading the team in tackles: Atreyu Kling had 10, Jett with nine, Anthony with eight, and Justin Pierce and Trey Marteney with seven. Philip, Jesse, Jaydon Johnson, and Dylan Layne also had a few tackles. 

Congratulations to the boys on their victory! They went on to play Wilcox-Hildreth in round two.
