On October 10, the Pawnee City Indians defeat the Lewiston Tigers in their first game of the Pioneer Conference Tournament. The team has won against Lewiston five times in a row. When asked what the team did well in the game, Coach Jordan Amundson said, “Our team did a great job competing against Lewiston for the 5th time this year. It can be hard to play a team that many times in a season, but our girls remained even-keeled. We were proud of them for that.”
When asked about a highlight from that game, Coach Pierce said, “The consistent play was the best part of the game. The team didn't fall into a slump defensively. The team as a whole kept the pressure on Lewiston the whole match.”
The team played Lewiston one more time in sub-district play on Monday, Oct. 23, and they won in four sets. That same night, the girls went on to play HTRS, a game they lost in three straight sets.
