On Wednesday, October 4, select members of the Pawnee City FFA chapter compete in land judging at Beatrice. There were almost 30 students who went, sponsored by FFA advisor Mr. Bloss and his student teacher Mr. Bartels.

When asked about land judging, Adrian de Koning said, “We decipher what kind of soil the field contains, the slope of the land, and many other things and ultimately figure out how you should use the ground. Some ground can be used for crops or animals to graze or any wildlife to roam around on.”

Madolyn Gottula stated, “At land judging, we judge soil and slopes and the depth of soil.”

The next contest will be State Land Judging on Wednesday, October 25, in Broken Bow.  Hallye Friedly, Adrian de Koning, Madolyn Gottula, and Emalyse Gottula will be competing.
