Cross Country

On Thursday, September 21, the high school and junior high cross country teams travel to Falls City to compete. According to Mrs. Koster, “The Pawnee City Junior High School Cross Country team excelled this week in their final meet of the season at the Falls City Country Club. All nine of the runners ran their personal best, with six out of the nine placing in the top 10 boys and girls junior high division.” 

For the girls, Haylee Plager finished 6th with a time of 10:59; she beat her previous time by a minute. Addison Boverhuis placed eighth with a time of 12:36; she beat her previous time by 2 minutes. Emily Koster came in tenth with a time of 13:01, beating her best time by almost a  minute. 

In the boys' event, Zeke Ferebee finished eighth with a time of 10:15 and he shaved 34 seconds off of his previous time. Kolbrin Farwell came in ninth with a time of 10:17, he also shaved a minute off of his previous time. Ryan Plager placed tenth with a time of 10:45.

The course in Falls City is comparable in length to the Fairbury meet.
