On October 9, 2026, Pawnee City Elementary students learn about the importance of fire safety. They were taught what to do if they were in a house fire, such as staying low and out of the smoke, yelling back if someone is yelling at you so they know where you are, and to not be scared or hide in a fire.
When asked what the favorite part of the presentation was, Mrs. Julie Pierce said “The students’ favorite part of the presentation is when the firefighter puts on a mask to show the students what it sounds like when a firefighter is using an oxygen tank.”
We would like to thank the Pawnee City Fire Department for taking the time to come out and teach the elementary students about fire safety.
