On April 2, the Pawnee City FFA team travels to Lincoln to compete in this year's State Convention.

Students were asked what they competed in, how they did, and what their favorite parts of the week were. Here’s what everyone had to say about the week:

The Pawnee City FFA president, Adrian de Koning, replied, “I competed in Agronomy and I did better than usual, I placed 7th overall, and my favorite part was spending the whole day before my competition studying with the team!”

Kailey Hartman said that she competed in Meat Judging and Extemporaneous Speaking. She didn’t feel like she did well in meats but got a gold medal in Extemporaneous. Her favorite part of the state FFA was seeing her friends from across Nebraska and competing against them.

Senior, Madolyn Gottula, answered, “I competed in Agronomy, and I placed 8th individually and 2nd with my team. My favorite parts of State FFA were going on stage and hanging out with my friends.”

Seventh grader, Amelia Strathman, also commented on the trip, “I competed in Agriscience in environmental and natural resources. I did really well and I got 1st place. My favorite parts were watching the hypnosis show and walking on stage to get my medal.” Her first-place finish earned her a trip to Nationals next school year.

Sophomore, Adelyn Sisco, said, “I competed in meats. We did well and placed 9th, and my favorite parts were the eating and competing.”

Her sister, seventh grader, Aubrey Sisco, also commented, “I competed in the Agriscience fair. I got second place in gold. Some of my favorite parts were DoorDash and hanging out.”

8th grader, Ainsley Rauner, was also asked to comment. She replied, “I competed in Agriscience, and I got third place. My favorite parts of State FFA were staying at the hotel and DoorDashing, and going to Pinnacle Bank Arena.” She worked on her project with Kailyn Jensen.

Sophomore, Jaydon Johnson, earned a purple ribbon in Ag Technology and Mechanics. Tyler Tegtmeier, Norman McHenry, and Aidan Petersen all earned the blue ribbon.

In Farm and Agribusiness Management, Shayla Puhalla and Larkyn Vlcek both earned the white ribbon.

Aidan Petersen, Adelyn Sisco, Luke Hunzeker, and Kailey Hartman got the blue ribbon in Meat Evaluation and Technology.

Ashlyn Puhalla got a red ribbon in the Agriscience competition.

Congratulations to all the competing FFA students!
