By Keirstan Hummel, Junior
“And in the eyes of the people there is the failure; and in the eyes of the hungry there is a growing wrath. In the souls of the people the grapes of wrath are filling and growing heavy, growing heavy for the vintage.”John Steinbeck, The Grapes of Wrath.

By Paige Freeman, Senior
This year at Pawnee City High School, the graduating class of 2013 will hold their Commencement Exercises on Saturday, May 11 at 2:00 in the Gym. There are 21 individuals in the graduating class this year. Their class colors are red & black and their class song is “Young” by Kenny Chesney. A Red Dahlia is their class flower. Graduation is the culmination of high school, this is day to celebrate our academic achievements as well as the character building events that have gotten us to where we are.
Looking back over the last four years, we have some advice that many of us would like to give to the underclassmen:
First, take your grades SERIOUSLY, do your best, you never know when you may need that skill.
Second, respect your teachers - it WILL help out in the long run. Third,...DEADLINES - MAKE THEM or be plenty early when making them.
Finally, apply for Scholarships - this one is very important - they help out tremendously.
So as you see, we listed a few tips and tricks in order to be a successful student in high school.
