Success in District CDEs

     FFA members competed in five different contests on Tuesday, March 3rd, at District CDEs. CDE stands for Career Development Events, which are contests the members compete in to test their skills learned through agricultural education. Each contest is based on a potential agricultural career. The contests that students participated in at SCC in Beatrice included Agriscience, Agronomy, Farm Business Management, Meat Judging, and Welding.
     The day was successful with all five teams placing in the top five. The Agronomy team was the District Champion. Individual results are as follows: Clay Schaardt- District Champion, Trevor Kuhlmann- District Runner-Up, and Kellen Habegger- 4th place. The Farm Business Management team was the District Champion. Individual results are as follows: Hayden Meyer- District Champion, Carly Hunzeker- District Runner-Up, and Clayton Branek- 8th place. The Agriscience team was the District Champion. Individual results are as follows: Aeden Gyhra- 6th place, and Isaac Gottula- 9th place. The Meats Evaluation team was the District Runner-Up. Individual results are as follows: Caetlen Gyhra- District Runner-Up, Sarah Smyth- 6th place, Macey Gyhra- 8th place, and Leslie Sommerhalder- 10th place. The Welding team was the 3rd place team. In Oxy-acetylene Welding, Spencer Stephens was the District Runner-Up and in MIG Welding Ted Gyhra placed 5th.
    All these contestants will be representing the Pawnee FFA in April at the State FFA Convention.
