FCSH Dominates PC in Junior High Games

By Megan Wenzl, Senior

The Pawnee City Junior High girls basketball team played the FCSH Irish at home February 26, A team lost 7 to 44 and B team lost 12 to 26.
Both A team and B team fell behind early in the games. The A and B teams had many turnovers which made it hard for them to have the opportunity to score, but the team showed improvement in rebounding. The Sacred Heart game was a tough game, Coach Pierce states, “The girl’s game speed is not what it needs to be. Defensively the team needs to rotate quicker and stay in their zone. Offensively, the team needs to pass better, read the defensive, and keep moving the ball.  When the team had crisp passes, there were open shots. The team has a lot of heart. The players are developing their game. With more practice the team will keep getting better.”
The girls play again Monday March 2nd at Johnson- Brock, Tuesday March 3rd at HTRS, and their last game in Monday March 9th at Fall City Public.
