The Pawnee City Indians Earn Second Place at the Holiday Tournament

    The Pawnee City Indians competed in the Holiday Tournament at HTRS. On December 30th, both girls and boys played HTRS for their first game. Girls won 33-21. Shelby Hundley and Olivia Farwell led the team in points with 9 each. Jenna Habegger ended the game with 14 rebounds. The second night of the Holiday Tournament, the Lady Indians faced the Deshler Dragons. This was a close game for the entire 32 minutes. The Indians and the Dragons were tied 14-14 at half. Starting the fourth quarter, the Indians were up 22-18, but ended the game 24-24 sending the game into overtime. However, the Indians got into foul trouble and were out scored 4-2 making the final score 26-28 in favor of the Dragons.  
    The boys basketball team had mirrored the girls with defeating HTRS and losing their second game to Deshler. Tyler Gyhra led the Indians against HTRS with 26 points. Also Ted Gyhra closed the game with 7 rebounds. The final score was 44-36. During the Deshler game, again,Tyler Gyhra led the team with 13 points. Connor Freeman scored 10 points. The final score against the Deshler Dragons was 37-44.
