Nora’s Lost Not Quite a Loss

On Wednesday, November 19, the PC Play Production traveled to Friend to compete in the Pioneer Conference competition. The day was a success with the team placing first. Superior Actor Award recipients were Carly Hunzeker, Marissa Myers, Steven Bruns, Macey Gyhra, and Hannah Davis, who also received best actress. The Judges were impressed with the casts ability to evoke emotion, which is hard to do at a high school level. Mrs. Bloss stated “It was probably the most prepared I’ve felt for a conference meet ever.” The team’s focus is now on the tedious details, judges comments and keeping it fresh. Mrs. Bloss also said, “Our volume was very low, and there are details to fix, but those are easy things to work on.”
This year’s Play Production is about an old women named Nora Blodget, who is debilitated by Alzheimers disease. She follows the vision of her late husband into the woods, where her life flashes before her, showing both good memories and bad. In her mind Nora searches for her daughter while in real life her daughter is searching for her.
