PC Lady Indians sweep the JCC Lady T-Birds in 3 sets on Thursday October 2 on the Indians home court.
The game against JCC brought out the serving strengths in the team. Coach Niss states, “ we had 18 ace serves as a team, which is the highest for an individual game all season.” They also had an opportunity to play some of the younger players who aren’t as experienced. Coach Niss states, “ in the game the girls had 0 serve receive errors.” Hannah Davis and Shelby Hundley each had 5 ace serves and Mikaila Engelken added 4 more ace serves. Jenna Habegger led the team with 13 kills. Mariah Willey had 5 blocks and Hannah Davis added 4 more blocks. Shelby Hundley had 12 digs and Sabre Menninga and Abby Mathewson each had 9 assists. Senior Jenna Habegger states, “the highlight of the season so far is that we were able to win all 3 sets.”
The team had many strengths to celebrate, but there are also skills to work on. Coach Niss states, “the girls need to work on creating a more balanced attack across the net which will help relieve some pressure off of the outside hitters. Senior Jenna Habegger states, “ they need to change the outcome of the third set because we weren’t really prepared and it took us a while to get going.”
