JV Volleyball Earned Runner-Up at the Lewiston Tourney

     The Pawnee City JV Volleyball team placed second out of six teams at the the Lewiston Tournament. The tournament was held on Saturday, September 20, 2014.
The first game was against the Diller-Odell Griffins. The Lady Indians fought to clean out the Griffins in 2 sets. Some of the strengths in the JV team is their passing and serving. Julia Schultheiss served seven in a row to put the Indians up 23-5 in the first set. The Indians went on to end that set 25-19. The second set was more back and forth scoring, but the Indians came out on top, beating the Griffins 26-24.
     The second game of the tournament was against the Lewiston Tigers. The Lady Indians were able to dominate Lewiston in both sets winning the first one 25-10 and the second set 25-16.
     The final matchup for the tournament was against the Freeman Falcons. This was for the tournament championship. Freeman proved to be a tough opponent. The Indians fell 16-25 and 15-25 to place second in the tournament.
