Let the Festivities Begin!!

     Another year, another fun filled week of homecoming. Pawnee City High School’s annual spirit week is here! From September 29th through October 3rd, the halls of PCHS are going to be crowded with students and teachers showing off their school pride, so whip out those cameras because you won’t want to miss a thing. For those wondering what to expect, Monday will be Senior Citizens Day, Tuesday; Hillbilly Day, Wednesday; Fake An Injury Day, Thursday; Celebrity Day, and Friday (as always) the students will be showing off their school pride and adorn themselves with red, black, and white.

     There will be the annual pancake breakfast in the Ag. Shop on Tuesday September, 30th from 7:00am to 8:15 am sponsored by the Student Council and Pawnee Fireman.  Stop by and get some pancakes and juice to kick off such a festive week! 

     The Volleyball team will be playing two matches this week, the first game is Tuesday, Sept 30th, the Lady Indians will take on the Freeman Falcons at Freeman starting at 5:00 pm.  The second match will be Thursday October 3 against JCC at home also starting at 5:00 pm.  The theme for this game is “Black Out the Thunderbirds”  so everyone dress in black to show your team spirit.  

     The JV Football team will take on NCL Monday, Sept 29th at 6:00 pm at home and the Cross Country Team will be running on Tuesday at the Rockport Invite starting at 5:00 pm.  The Junior High Teams also get a chance to compete Homecoming week they take on the HTRS Titans Thursday Oct. 2, starting at 4:00 pm. 

     The events continue on Friday with hamburgers and hotdogs being grilled for lunch and the 2nd Annual Dodgeball Tournament following in the school’s gym. 

     The tradition continues with the Homecoming Pep Rally, sponsored by the senior class taking place downtown at 1 PM in front of the courthouse. Stop by to see the students in all their glory and hear the results of who won the spirit days!


     The Homecoming festivities culminate Friday night when the Indians take on the Friend Bulldogs.  Kick off is at 7:00 pm.  Directly following the game will be the crowning of this year’s Homecoming King and Queen and the dance in the cafeteria until 12:00 am.
