Indians Start Their Season Off Right

On September 5th the Pawnee City football team started their season against the Sterling Jets on the Jets’ home field. The boys were able to get things done by out scoring the Jets 30 to 22.
On the first possession J.P Schiffbauer scored a touchdown. They put a stop to the Jets offense and regained the ball. On their second possession Cory Kettelhake scored a touchdown. This time, the Jets offense answered back to make the score 6-16 with 6:03 left in the first quarter.
Pawnee recovered a fumble late in to the second quarter but couldn’t make anything out of it. The Jets regained the ball and scored another touchdown with a couple seconds left in the second quarter. After halftime it took awhile to get things going. Jets scored again in the middle of the third quarter making the score 22 to 16 with Jets in the lead. Indians then answered back tying the score. In the fourth quarter the Indians score another touchdown resulting in the win of 30 to 22.
Indian coach, Mitch Shepherd said “I was pleased that we were able to handle adversity and come out with a solid win to start the season” Coach Shepherd plans to work on the teams fundamentals and being more consistent on offense.
