WE > ME
By Sabre Menninga, Sophomore
The theme for the girls volleyball team was WE > ME. The goals of the team were to put the team first and their individual selves second. One of highlights of the season was winning the Fall City tournament by beating the Diller Odell Griffins, who went on to win sub districts and districts. Another highlight of the 2014 volleyball season was beating Nebraska City Lourdes in sub districts after they beat us twice before. These games were when the team was playing together and reminding each other of the theme we have. Senior, Shelby Hundley, commented “Our team had great enthusiasm most of the time and we improved a lot towards the end of the season.”
In addition, several individuals on the team had a great individual season. Hannah Davis led the team in serving with 32 aces. Marissa Myers also had a good season serving 84.2%. Shelby Hundley finished her season with 331 digs. Jenna Habegger had her best season with 406 kills. She set the school record with 26 in one game. Abby Mathewson finished with 268 assists.
